About Palmahra Norwegian Elkhounds
We focus on preserving and improving this wonderful breed, striving to raise Norwegian Elkhounds who are exemplary representatives of the breed standard as well as excellent family members.

Dedicated to Preserving Norwegian Elkhounds
Focused on modern, evidence-based methods
With an in-depth education in modern ethology and animal behavior science, we prioritize modern, ethical, and evidence-based methods in raising and training our Norwegian Elkhounds.
Our Elkhounds
Our mission is to honor the Norwegian Elkhound's heritage while raising puppies with modern methods grounded in science, compassion, and regard for canine welfare. We combine traditional preservation breeding values with contemporary insights from the fields of modern ethology, animal behavior science, genetics, neuroscience, and training science.
Proven and Versatile
Our elkhounds have proven their merit in the show ring under judges from across the United States as well as foreign judges. They have also proven their versatility by training and competing in conformation, agility, Rally, tricks, FastCAT, and more!
Confident and well-adjusted
Having certifications in Applied Animal Behavior and training, I focus on using science/evidence-based methods with my elkhounds and strive to raise puppies who are confident, resilient, and connected.
Health Tested
We go above and beyond the minimum recommendations for health testing. Health screening includes OFA tests for hips, elbows, patellas, and eyes, as well as DNA testing.
Note: While we strive to produce healthy Norwegian Elkhounds who are excellent examples of the breed, no guarantee is made for temperament, health, show or performance outcomes.
